A number of Yemeni governorates continue to receive hundreds of tonnes of Ramadan rations that have been provided by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC). Approximately seven million people are benefitting from the Ramadan Ration and Iftar programmes in Shabwa, Hadramaut, Taiz, Hodeidah, and Socotra.

Yemenis receive hundreds of tonnes of Ramadan rations from ERCThe initiative is pursuant to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as the follow up from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the ERC, to meet the needs of Yemenis during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

UAE has undertaken the initiative as part of the humanitarian and development efforts to enhance Yemeni lives, alleviate suffering, meet Yemeni needs during the holy month, and improve food security. ERC provided Ramadan requirements and delivered them to governorates before Ramadan. It helps to bridge the food gap in several Yemeni governorates and to provide food to the residents there.
